Applicable Well Types
1. Conventional Oil & Gas Wells
Adaptable Well Types: Medium deep vertical wells (depth ≤ 4000m), medium deviation directional wells (build up section ≤ 60°), medium shallow cased wells (φ89mm/φ114mm casing), medium shallow open hole wells.
Typical Applications: Medium deep oil & gas exploration wells, dynamic monitoring of conventional production wells, cased well completion monitoring, open hole exploration logging.
2. Unconventional Oil & Gas Wells
Adaptable Well Types: Medium shallow coalbed methane (CBM) wells (depth ≤ 2500m), shale gas long radius horizontal wells (horizontal section ≤ 1000m), tight oil & gas development wells.
Typical Applications: Production monitoring of CBM development wells, shale gas horizontal well fracturing monitoring, tight reservoir dynamic monitoring, permanent monitoring of unconventional wells.
3. Other Exploration & Engineering Wells
Adaptable Well Types: Medium shallow geothermal wells (bottomhole temperature ≤ 150℃, depth ≤ 2500m), hydrogeological exploration wells, underground coal mine monitoring wells, medium shallow water injection wells.
Typical Applications: Medium temperature geothermal resource monitoring, groundwater hydrological data collection, coal mine underground gas monitoring, water injection profile monitoring.
Strictly Inapplicable Scenarios
Ultra deep wells (depth > 4000m): 10kN breaking strength cannot support total tension of cable weight + logging tool weight, high risk of cable breakage.
High deviation wells (> 60°) / short radius horizontal wells (build up rate > 12°/100ft): Insufficient torsion and friction resistance; minimum bending diameter (800mm) cannot match high build trajectories, easily causing fiber breakage and signal failure.
Ultra high temperature wells (bottomhole temperature > 150℃): Exceeds rated temperature, causing FEP insulation aging, increased fiber attenuation, and monitoring failure.
Severe corrosive wells (high H₂S/CO₂ concentration): Standard 316L/A825 stainless steel cannot resist long term severe corrosion, leading to armor rust and fiber damage.
Ultra high pressure wells (pressure > 140MPa): Exceeds rated pressure resistance, risking seal failure, structural damage, and safety hazards.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
What are the adaptable well types for Conventional Oil & Gas Wells?
Adaptable well types include medium deep vertical wells (depth ≤ 4000m), medium deviation directional wells (build up section ≤ 60°), medium shallow cased wells (φ89mm/φ114mm casing), and medium shallow open hole wells.
Can this equipment be used in ultra deep wells?
No, it is strictly inapplicable for ultra deep wells (depth > 4000m). The 10kN breaking strength cannot support the total tension of the cable weight and logging tool weight, leading to a high risk of cable breakage.
Is it suitable for ultra high temperature environments?
No, it is not suitable for ultra high temperature wells (bottomhole temperature > 150℃). The rated temperature is 150℃ (302℉). Exceeding this limit causes FEP insulation aging, increased fiber attenuation, and monitoring failure.
What is the maximum pressure resistance of the product?
The rated pressure is ≤100MPa. It is strictly inapplicable in ultra high pressure wells (pressure > 140MPa) as it exceeds pressure resistance limits, risking seal failure and structural damage.
Can it be applied in severe corrosive wells?
It is not suitable for severe corrosive wells with high H₂S/CO₂ concentrations. Standard 316L/A825 stainless steel cannot resist long term severe corrosion, which leads to armor rust and fiber damage.
What is the minimum bending diameter requirement?
The minimum bending diameter is 800mm. Therefore, it is inapplicable for high deviation wells (> 60°) or short radius horizontal wells (build up rate > 12°/100ft) where the bending diameter cannot match high build trajectories.
