To further enhance the theoretical understanding and practical application capabilities of optical fiber logging, and to advance the development of smart oil and gas wells, the Optical Fiber Logging Technology Symposium, hosted by the Logging Professional Committee of the Chinese Petroleum Society, was successfully held from April 18 to 19, 2024, at Jiangsu Huaneng Cable Co., Ltd.

In 2024, Huaneng Cable developed 10,000-meter ultra-high-strength wireline logging cable for ultra-deep wells, which was successfully applied in logging operations of Well Tako-1 in the Tarim Oilfield of PetroChina, achieving a logging depth of 10,910 meters. This set a new record for the deepest vertical well in Asia and the deepest cable imaging logging depth globally.
